Maintenance Fitter Apprentice

As a Maintenance Fitter Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced tradespeople to develop practical skills in mechanical engineering and maintenance. Your primary responsibilities include assisting with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery used in energy systems. You will learn to interpret technical drawings and schematics, perform precision measurements, and use hand and power tools safely and effectively. The role involves conducting routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical faults, and carrying out corrective maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency. You will also participate in the assembly and disassembly of mechanical components, including pumps, valves, gears, and bearings. Additionally, you will support the team in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols at all times. Over the course of the apprenticeship, you will gain hands-on experience in welding, machining, and fitting techniques, contributing to the production and maintenance of advanced energy technologies. You will be expected to actively engage in on-the-job training and complete all required coursework to achieve a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical. A current driver's license and reliable transport to the Clovelly Park site are preferred. You must be eligible to work in Australia and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical and background check.
