Explore. at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon! Job Summary: Our Bartenders provide courteous, efficient beverage service to guests while maintaining proper pour control and alcohol awareness. The Details: Position Type: Seasonal or Year-Round Pay: Hourly Average, Wage + Tips = $23.28 – $24.81 (depending on location), Hourly Wage = $13.85 Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why Grand Canyon South Rim? Responsibilities Provide prompt, efficient and courteous beverage service to internal and external guests ensuring proper mixology, portion control and content information to guests. Execute all requests for food and beverage ordering, delivery and clearing as needed on a shift by shift basis Remain knowledgeable of property wide offerings, current trail conditions as it relates to water supply, closures and bus routes. Remain fluid with all hours of operations for the restaurant and current menu selections as well as the daily feature. Field phone calls as necessary while assisting guests with all inquiries. Practice full alcohol awareness as to the levels of guest alcohol consumption and make decisions as to continued service and consumption. When necessary courteously and discreetly (as possible) cut-off guests from further service and consumption of alcoholic beverages in conjunction with the Manager on duty. Strictly enforce ID compliance as required by Arizona State Law. Ensure bar operation is ready to open on time and maintained throughout the shift with a focus on bottle facing presentations and bar top free of clutter and debris. Responsible for making “last call” in a professional and courteous manner and stops serving at the proper time. Order liquor following established procedure on a daily basis per shift assignment. Provide dining room service bar to Food & Beverage Servers for beverage orders. Maintain sanitation standards for the guest seating area and work area. Do side work for bar as assigned per shift including stocking of supplies. Perform all cashier duties using the POS system; ringing up sales and tendering payment with cash, credit card, or room charge; tracking Server sales; making shift deposit. Handle all guest complaints to best of ability and circumstance, involving the Bartender Lead or Service Manager as necessary. Adhere to all safety and risk management policies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to provide prompt, courteous service and properly interact with a broad cross- section of guests while maintaining equal priority to internal and external guests Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in the state of Arizona. Ability to learn, apply and firmly enforce Arizona State liquor laws, as well as Xanterra South Rim liquor policies and National Park Service requirements. Ability to pass company sponsored alc ohol awareness class and apply methods learned to guest situations. Ability to accurately handle cash transactions, including guest, Cocktail Server and Food & Beverage Server transactions. Learn and operate the Simphony POS system. Ability to follow portion pour procedures and established recipe’s for all beverages served. Assist in new cocktail construction and menu enhancements with guidance and permission from leadership team. Must be available for evening shifts, weekends, and holidays. Must be 18 years of age in accordance with Arizona State Liquor Law to serve alcohol. Ability to learn, apply and firmly enforce Arizona State liquor laws, as well as Xanterra South Rim Alcohol policies and National Park Service requirements. Must be 21 years of age to pour alcohol per Xanterra policy. Must be able to pass ServSafe food handler training. Physical Requirements include: Physically able to change out fifteen gallon beer kegs. Able to stand for long periods of time. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
