Job Summary: The Maintenance Lead in Mammoth Hot Springs is a year-round leadership position responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance activities across Xanterra facilities and assets. This role combines advanced technical expertise with hands-on leadership, ensuring maintenance work is executed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. A core function of this position is to serve as a mentor and technical resource for General Maintenance Technicians, supporting skill development, reinforcing standards, and strengthening team capability. The Maintenance Lead plays a key role in building bench strength, maintaining continuity across seasons, and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of facilities, systems, and equipment. Lead and participate in seasonal opening and closing of facilities, ensuring operational readiness. Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to assign, track, and close preventive and corrective maintenance work orders. Provide direct mentorship to General Maintenance Technicians, including training, coaching, and skill development. Set clear expectations for work quality, productivity, and safety; provide day-to-day guidance and support. Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards, operational requirements, and quality expectations. Promote safe work practices and ensure adherence to OSHA, NFPA, and company safety programs. Support sustainability initiatives and responsible resource use in daily operations. Coordinate work priorities with leadership to align with operational needs and project timelines. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Communicate professionally and effectively with team members, leadership, and cross-functional departments. Work independently with minimal supervision and adjust to changing priorities; flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Qualifications Advanced mechanical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting and repair experience across multiple trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry). Proven leadership experience with the ability to train, mentor, and develop maintenance staff. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to dynamic operational needs. Working knowledge of CMMS systems and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and general safety compliance standards. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload effectively, and maintain accountability. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts based on operational demands. Physical Requirements include: Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevations above 6,000 ft. Walk up to 0.5 miles over uneven terrain; climb stairs and ladders. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs; perform heavy labor outdoors in varying weather.
