FREIGHT FORWARDING - WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR -BRISBANE

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of freight from receipt to dispatch. Key responsibilities include: Operations Management: Supervise inbound and outbound processes, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping. Coordinate with freight forwarding teams to prioritize time-critical and temperature-sensitive shipments, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training to maintain high productivity and accuracy. Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies. Ensure proper storage and handling of goods, especially temperature-sensitive items, to prevent damage or loss. Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to warehouse workflows, layout, and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce turnaround times. Collaborate with management to meet operational KPIs. Compliance and Safety: Enforce workplace health and safety regulations, maintain clean and organized work areas, and ensure all equipment is properly maintained. Conduct safety audits and incident investigations as needed. Reporting and Communication: Prepare daily and weekly reports on warehouse activities, including throughput, accuracy, and any issues. Liaise with other departments (e.g., customer service, transport) to resolve operational challenges.

To succeed in this role, you will need: - Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership role in a freight forwarding or logistics environment. - Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory management, shipping/receiving, and safety protocols. - Experience handling time-critical and temperature-sensitive shipments is highly desirable. - Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff. - Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail. - Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. - Forklift license and relevant safety certifications are preferred. - High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
