As a Customs Broker, you will be responsible for managing and facilitating the customs clearance process for international shipments. Your primary duties include: Customs Clearance: Prepare, review, and submit customs documentation for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws. You will classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and determine applicable duties, taxes, and fees. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and import/export restrictions. You will advise clients on compliance requirements and resolve any issues that arise during the clearance process. Client Coordination: Liaise with clients, freight forwarders, and government agencies to facilitate smooth clearance. You will provide timely updates on shipment status and address any inquiries or discrepancies. Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of all customs entries, supporting documents, and correspondence. You will ensure all files are organized and accessible for audits or reviews. Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve customs holds, delays, or penalties. You will work with internal teams and external partners to expedite clearance and minimize disruptions. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline customs procedures and enhance efficiency. You will collaborate with management to implement best practices and optimize workflows. Team Collaboration: Work closely with operations, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain management. You will participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will need: - **Experience**: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Customs Broker in a freight forwarding or logistics environment. - **Licensing**: Valid Customs Broker license (Australian Customs Broker License preferred). - **Knowledge**: In-depth understanding of Australian customs regulations, tariff classifications, and trade compliance. Familiarity with global logistics and supply chain processes is essential. - **Skills**: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in customs software and Microsoft Office Suite. - **Communication**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, government agencies, and internal teams. - **Education**: Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred. - **Attributes**: Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
