- J.D. degree from an accredited law school within the last 8 months, or scheduled to graduate by June 1, 2027
- Class rank in top 1/3 of law school class
- If not licensed: taken a state bar exam and awaiting results, or will take one within 8 months of graduation
- Active bar membership (any U.S. jurisdiction) by entry on duty date (or within 14 months if starting as a Law Clerk)
- U.S. citizenship required
- Strong academics, outstanding organizational skills, superior legal writing and research ability
- Demonstrated analytical ability, good judgment, and courtroom skills
- Commitment to professionalism, ethics, civility, and public service
