Freight Forwarding - Warehouse Supervisor -Brisbane

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of freight from receipt to dispatch. Key duties include: Operations Management: Supervise daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of cargo. Ensure all processes comply with safety and quality standards. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management. Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stocktakes, and reconcile discrepancies. Implement inventory management systems to optimize stock accuracy and turnover. Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to warehouse workflows, layout, and procedures to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Conduct safety audits and incident investigations as needed. Customer Service: Liaise with internal teams and external clients to resolve operational issues, coordinate special handling requirements, and maintain high service levels. Reporting: Prepare and present operational reports on key metrics such as throughput, accuracy, and efficiency to management. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and proper use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring all equipment is in safe working order.

To be successful in this role, you will need: - Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar role in a freight forwarding or logistics environment. - Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and supply chain processes. - Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff. - Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Forklift license and relevant safety certifications. - High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics or supply chain management is preferred. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
