As a Cartage Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the cartage operations for an international freight forwarding company. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the efficient movement of goods through local and regional transportation networks. Key responsibilities include:
Cartage Operations Management: Oversee the daily scheduling and dispatching of cartage vehicles to ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight. Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams to optimize routes and minimize delays.
Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding cartage status, providing real-time updates and resolving any issues that arise during transit. Maintain clear and professional communication to ensure customer satisfaction.
Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and verify all necessary documentation for cartage movements, including delivery orders, proof of delivery, and customs paperwork. Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and address operational challenges such as traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns, or shipment discrepancies. Implement solutions to maintain service levels and minimize disruptions.
Data Entry and Reporting: Accurately input cartage data into the company's logistics systems. Generate reports on key performance indicators, such as on-time delivery rates and cost efficiency, to support continuous improvement.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including warehousing, customer service, and freight forwarding teams, to ensure seamless end-to-end logistics. Participate in regular meetings to discuss operational performance and improvement initiatives.
Vendor Management: Liaise with external carriers and transport providers to negotiate rates, monitor service quality, and ensure adherence to agreed-upon service levels. Maintain a network of reliable vendors to support operational needs.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in cartage operations. Suggest process enhancements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall service quality.

- **Experience**: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a cartage coordination or similar logistics role within the freight forwarding industry. Experience with international freight forwarding is highly preferred.
- **Skills**: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
