As Contract Manager, you will lead the transport and logistics operation from the Lytton site, ensuring safety, compliance, and profitability across Queensland. Your primary responsibilities include:
Operational Leadership: Oversee daily transport and logistics activities, manage a team of drivers and operational staff, and ensure efficient scheduling, routing, and delivery performance. Drive continuous improvement in processes and service levels.
Contract Management: Manage key client contracts, ensuring all service level agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded. Negotiate contract terms, monitor compliance, and address any issues or disputes promptly.
Financial Performance: Own the profit and loss (P&L) for the contract, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue optimization. Identify opportunities to improve profitability while maintaining high service standards.
Safety and Compliance: Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring all operations comply with relevant regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Act as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters, providing regular performance reports and updates.
Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor staff to build a high-performing team. Foster a collaborative and accountable work environment.
Strategic Growth: Collaborate with senior management to identify and pursue new business opportunities within the region, contributing to the company's growth strategy.

To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience as a Contract Manager or similar leadership role in transport and logistics, preferably with a national or large-scale operation.
- Strong understanding of transport operations, including fleet management, route planning, and regulatory compliance (e.g., NHVR, fatigue management).
- Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, budgets, and financial performance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- A track record of driving safety and compliance improvements.
- Experience in team leadership, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field (desirable).
- A valid driver's license and willingness to work from the Lytton site.
