As a Data Science Intern, you will work on real-world projects that leverage machine learning and statistical modeling to derive actionable insights from health and wellness data. Your responsibilities will include: - Data Collection and Preprocessing: Assist in gathering, cleaning, and organizing large datasets from wearable devices, surveys, and clinical sources. Ensure data quality and consistency for analysis. - Exploratory Data Analysis: Perform statistical analysis and visualization to identify patterns, trends, and correlations in physical activity, sleep, body composition, stress, heart health, and blood glucose data. - Model Development: Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of machine learning models (e.g., regression, classification, clustering) to predict health outcomes or personalize insights. - Algorithm Optimization: Collaborate with senior data scientists to fine-tune algorithms for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. - Insight Generation: Translate analytical findings into clear, evidence-based recommendations for product features or health interventions. - Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of methodologies, code, and results. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to cross-functional teams. - Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, product managers, and domain experts to integrate data science solutions into the company's preventive healthcare platform. - Research: Stay updated on latest techniques in AI, machine learning, and health analytics to propose innovative approaches.

Qualifications and requirements: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. - Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and machine learning concepts. - Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling (experience with libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch is a plus). - Experience with SQL for data querying and manipulation. - Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau). - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently and in a team environment. - Prior internship or project experience in health analytics, wearable data, or preventive healthcare is preferred but not required.
