R&D Associate Researcher Intern (Diploma - Chemistry, Life Sciences or Engineering)

As an R&D Associate Researcher Intern, you will contribute to hands-on experimentation and real-life technical problem solving for leading consumer brands such as SK-II, Olay, Gillette, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Joy, and Vicks. Your responsibilities will span across multiple business units, including Health Care, Hair Care, Skin Care, Personal Care, and corporate functions like Microbiology. In the Health Care unit, you will assist in developing and testing oral care or digestive health products, conducting laboratory experiments to evaluate formulation stability, efficacy, and safety. You will analyze data, document results, and support the optimization of product prototypes. For Hair Care, you will participate in formulating and testing shampoos, conditioners, and styling products. This includes preparing samples, performing physical and chemical tests (e.g., viscosity, pH, foam stability), and evaluating performance through sensory or instrumental methods. You will also help troubleshoot formulation issues and maintain accurate lab records. In Skin Care, you will work on developing and improving skincare products like moisturizers, cleansers, and sunscreens. Your tasks will involve preparing formulations, conducting stability studies, measuring rheological properties, and assisting with in vitro or ex vivo efficacy tests. You will collaborate with senior researchers to refine product attributes. For Personal Care, you will support the creation of deodorants, body washes, or other personal hygiene items. This includes raw material sourcing, formulation trials, and performance testing (e.g., wetness, odor control). You will also help document experimental procedures and results. In corporate functions like Microbiology, you will assist with microbial testing of raw materials and finished products, including sample preparation, culture maintenance, and data analysis. You will ensure compliance with quality standards and contribute to contamination investigations. Across all units, you will maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, follow standard operating procedures, and communicate findings to team members. You will also participate in team meetings, present progress updates, and contribute to innovation projects. This internship offers exposure to real-world R&D processes, from concept to prototype, and requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset.

Currently pursuing a diploma in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or Engineering (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields). Strong foundational knowledge in laboratory techniques, including sample preparation, instrumentation, and data analysis. Proficiency in using basic lab equipment (e.g., balances, pH meters, viscometers). Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data recording and reporting. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly. Prior internship or project experience in a laboratory setting is preferred but not required. Must be available for the internship duration and based in Singapore.
