The Research Assistant will support the planning and implementation of a research project examining disinformation and propaganda operations across Southeast Asia. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the design and execution of research methodologies, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Conducting literature reviews and synthesizing findings from academic and policy sources.
- Managing and organizing research data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Collaborating with the research team to develop project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Preparing reports, presentations, and other dissemination materials for academic and public audiences.
- Supporting the coordination of fieldwork, interviews, or surveys as needed.
- Contributing to the preparation of research proposals and grant applications.
- Maintaining communication with project stakeholders and partners.
- Performing administrative tasks related to the research project, such as scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.

Qualifications and requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies, Information Studies, or a related field.
- Strong research skills, including experience with qualitative and/or quantitative methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, NVivo, or similar) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with disinformation, propaganda, or Southeast Asian media landscapes is an advantage.
- Prior experience in academic research or project coordination is desirable.
