Pharmacy Technician / Assistant

Under the supervision of pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician/Assistant performs technical duties to ensure safe, efficient, and timely distribution of drugs. Key responsibilities include: Pharmacy Operations: Process medication orders, pick and pack medicines according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and perform medication reconciliation including counting and verifying medications. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of prescriptions for dispensing. Supervision and Coordination: Assist the senior pharmacist in charge in providing supervision to pharmacy support staff. Coordinate activities within a designated section to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement. Monitor inventory levels and assist in stock management to prevent shortages or overstock. Quality and Safety: Adhere to all safety and quality standards in medication handling and distribution. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment. Report any discrepancies or issues in medication orders or inventory promptly. Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional service to patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders. Respond to inquiries regarding medication availability and basic pharmaceutical information under pharmacist guidance. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing, inventory transactions, and other relevant documentation. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care. Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

Minimum GCE 'N' Level or equivalent. Prior experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions. Basic computer literacy for data entry and inventory management. Good communication skills in English (spoken and written). Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays if required.
