Physician (Radiology-Diagnostic)

The Diagnostic Radiologist will provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging services within the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System. Responsibilities include interpreting and reporting on a wide range of imaging studies, with a focus on body imaging, cardiothoracic imaging, PET/CT/nuclear medicine, and neuroradiology. The radiologist will collaborate with referring physicians to ensure accurate diagnoses and appropriate patient management. Duties also involve participating in multidisciplinary conferences, quality assurance activities, and contributing to the development of imaging protocols. The role requires maintaining proficiency in advanced imaging technologies and adhering to VA standards for patient care and safety. Work schedules may include full-time or part-time (32 hours per week) arrangements, with specific schedules determined during the interview process.

Qualifications include: United States citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed only when no qualified citizens are available); a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited program; a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia; and completion of an accredited residency training program in Diagnostic Radiology approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, leading to board certification eligibility. Subspecialty expertise in body imaging, cardiothoracic imaging, PET/CT/nuclear medicine, or neuroradiology is preferred.
