岗位职责

Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.
(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year—if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later.)
At Oceans, we help the best and brightest of Sri Lanka to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t be available to them, while supporting entrepreneurs around the world. Our community (we call them Divers) don’t do surface work—they go deep to solve complex challenges and make a real impact. And in doing so, they support bold ideas, expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers, all without having to leave family and friends.
As an FP&A Manager, you'll serve as a strategic finance partner to multiple high-growth startup clients, helping founders and executive teams understand their financial performance and make better business decisions. You'll build financial planning systems, develop forecasting methodologies, create sophisticated financial models, and translate financial data into recommendations that improve cash flow, profitability, and long-term business performance.
You'll operate at the intersection of financial analysis and strategic advisory. You'll manage multiple client engagements, work directly with founders and CFOs, and take ownership of forward-looking financial planning, business analysis, and decision support. You'll need to be equally comfortable building a complex model and presenting its implications to an executive team.
Here's how you'll make an impact:
Accountability
Financial Planning & Forecasting
Build and maintain comprehensive financial planning models for multiple startup clients.
Develop rolling forecasts, annual budgets, and cash flow projections.
Design forecasting methodologies and KPI frameworks tailored to different business models.
Establish financial planning processes that improve visibility into company performance.
Monitor financial performance and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
Provide forward-looking analysis to support financial and operational planning.
Financial Modelling & Business Analysis
Develop sophisticated financial models across a range of startup business models.
Build unit economics frameworks and operational performance models.
Analyse financial statements, business metrics, and operational KPIs.
Evaluate revenue drivers, gross margins, customer economics, and cost structures.
Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic planning.
Translate complex financial analysis into clear business implications and recommendations.
Strategic FinancialAdvisory
Act as a trusted finance partner to founders, CFOs, and senior leadership.
Translate financial performance into actionable strategic recommendations.
Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cost efficiency, and capital allocation.
Advise leadership on cash runway, financial risk, and operational trade-offs.
Support strategic decisions around growth, hiring, investment, and resource allocation.
Help clients establish financial frameworks that support sustainable long-term growth.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Lead financial review meetings with startup founders and executive teams.
Present financial performance, forecasts, and recommendations clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Build trusted advisor relationships across multiple client accounts.
Manage several concurrent client engagements while maintaining quality and consistency.
Proactively identify client needs and opportunities for deeper financial support.
Coordinate with the FP&A leadership team to maintain consistent standards across engagements.
Project & Team Management
Manage priorities, timelines, and deliverables across multiple client engagements.
Coordinate work across internal teams supporting each engagement.
Maintain high-quality financial deliverables within agreed deadlines.
Drive continuous improvement of FP&A methodologies, models, and processes.
Contribute to the development of scalable financial systems alongside product and R&D teams.
Support the development of internal processes that improve the efficiency and quality of client delivery.
AI & Process Automation
Leverage AI tools to improve financial analysis, modelling, reporting, and research efficiency.
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive financial workflows.
Integrate AI into financial planning and advisory processes where it can improve speed or quality.
Validate AI-generated financial analysis and outputs before using them in client deliverables.
Continuously explore ways to improve FP&A workflows through technology and automation.
Colleagues
You'll work directly with startup founders, CFOs, and senior leadership teams across multiple client engagements, while collaborating closely with the Head of FP&A and internal teams supporting each account. You'll be expected to build trusted relationships, communicate complex financial information clearly, and operate as a proactive financial advisor rather than simply responding to reporting requests.
At Oceans Talent, you'll also receive guidance and support from your Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you're continuously growing and developing in your career.
