Are you an experienced Virtual Medical Assistant with a background in mental health or behavioral health?
We're looking for a reliable and detail-oriented professional to support a solo, independent psychiatric nurse practitioner practice in New York providing medication management through telehealth and in-person appointments.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule patient appointments and send reminders
Support patient intake and insurance verification
Sort and route incoming patient portal messages
Prepare paperwork for prior authorizations
Submit and follow up on insurance claims
Send pre-approved standard patient communications
Log prescription refill requests and queue them for provider review
Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient communication and documentation
Requirements:
Experience working in a New York mental health or behavioral health practice
Previous experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant or healthcare administrative professional
Familiarity with insurance verification, patient intake, scheduling, and claims
Comfortable handling confidential patient information
Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
Familiarity with New York healthcare and payer processes
Bonus:

Advanced medical billing experience
