Job Summary: The Assistant Human Resources Director supervises various HR functions, including onboarding, housing, benefits, and the community recreation center.
The Details: Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Housing: 3-bedroom house, $195 rent, and the employee is responsible for paying utilities and wifi. $195 housing deposit. Responsibilities Supervise the Learning & Development Manager, Housing Manager, Community Recreation Center Manager and Human Resources Manager. Oversee and support the Learning & Development team to ensure that new hire orientation, compliance training programs and other departmental trainings are offered and effective through consistent feedback in partnership with the corporate L&D team. Oversee employee housing processes, for new arrivals, concerns and exits are meeting company standards. Collaborate and provide consistent feedback to improve the employee experience. Assist in complex employee relations issues, resolve conflicts and ensure a positive work environment. Collaborate with the HR Manager and team to provide consistent feedback to ensure positive and welcoming experience for new hires and throughout their employment. Provide oversight into recruitment, onboarding,
HRISchange management, benefit administration and ensure compliance. Partner with international agencies, when necessary, on strategies that will improve relationships and set expectations for the seasonal J1/H2B and Internship Programs. Oversee the reasonable suspicion process and drug and alcohol testing process and make sure it is administered correctly to ensure compliance practices are withheld to the highest standards. Supervise the Community Recreation Center Manager to ensure the provision of a clean and safe Community Recreation Center is offered, as well as making sure we offer a variety of programs to meet the needs of a diverse community. Assume HR responsibilities and decisions in the absence of the HR Director. Oversee employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and retention initiatives designed to enhance employee experience and support a positive workplace culture Partner with HR Director and other department leaders to support workforce planning, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives to ensure organizational readiness. Partner with HR Director to analyze key human resource metrics including turnover, retention, staffing levels, employee engagement, recruiting effectiveness, and training compliance to identify trends and recommend strategic solutions. Provide guidance and oversight regarding leave administration, ADA accommodations, interactive process requirements, and return-to-work practices Partner with Risk Management and operational leaders regarding workers' compensation claims, workplace safety initiatives, and injury prevention efforts. Partner with Learning & Development to identify leadership capability gaps and implement development strategies for supervisors, managers, and emerging leaders. Serve as a strategic business partner to operational leaders by aligning human resource initiatives with organizational goals, workforce needs, and business objectives Build and maintain strong relationships with all levels of management to be a trusted advisor regarding various human resources issues and concerns. Provide good communication for availability to all employees who come to HR to discuss concerns, corrective action, employment, transfers, and other issues pertinent to the employee. Manage reports and partner with the HR Director to develop strategic actions surrounding feedback on issues and concerns. Assist the HR Director with the development of HR policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Ensure proper administration of the Xanterra South Rim and Xanterra Travel Collection Policies and Procedures. Project a commitment to the company's Sustainability policy. Responsible for property-wide Director on Duty duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications A minimum of five years of progressive human resources management experience, preferably in a National Park operation. Professional HR certification preferred (SHRM-CP/SCP or
PHR/SPHR). In-depth knowledge of HR compliance knowledge. Strong relationships and communication skills. Ability to convey ideas verbally and in writing effectively to a variety of audiences. Effective leadership skills to partner with a diverse workforce. Strong analytical skills and organizational skills. Hospitality experience with demonstrated knowledge of position requirements for a majority of hotel/resort, food & beverage, and retail operation positions. Knowledge of
EEO/AApolicies and
FLSAregulations. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite,
HRISsystems. Experience with iCIMS is preferred. Experience with methods of pre-employment testing, such as Predictive Index, desired. Ability to give directives and ensure the administration and compliance of such directives.
