Investment Accountant Associate - Hartford, CT Office

As an Investment Accountant Associate, you will support the investment accounting function at HSB. Your primary responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements and footnotes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. You will book journal entries related to investment transactions, including purchases, sales, and income accruals. Additionally, you will assist in reconciling investment accounts, analyzing investment data, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of investment activities. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a hybrid environment, balancing office and remote work.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Entry-level to graduate-level experience in accounting or finance. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communication skills. CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
