The Foreign Affairs Specialist performs entry-level work in international relations, applying professional principles to advise, research, and analyze problems in logistics, business, and program management.
岗位职责
As a Foreign Affairs Specialist, you will perform entry-level professional work in the formulation and direction of foreign affairs of the government or in the study and disposition of information bearing on international relations. Your responsibilities include:
- Applying basic professional principles, concepts, and practices of foreign affairs to advise or conduct research in international relations.
- Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions in areas such as logistics, international business, and program management.
- Communicating factual and procedural information clearly, both orally and in writing, to support departmental objectives.
- Planning and organizing work effectively while consulting with co-workers to achieve team goals.
- Participating in a formal training program designed to develop your skills in international affairs administration, with assignments that build expertise in policy analysis, program coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

To qualify for this position, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- Completed all requirements for a bachelor's, master's, professional, or doctorate degree from a qualifying educational institution within the previous two years, or will complete these requirements by June 15, 2026.
- A veteran released or discharged from active duty within the previous two years who was precluded from applying for a recent graduate position due to a military service obligation, provided no more than six years have elapsed since completing the degree requirements.
Additionally, you must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
1. Knowledge of basic professional principles, concepts, and practices used in the departmental formulation and direction of foreign affairs or in the study and disposition of information bearing on international relations.
2. Skill in applying basic principles, concepts, and practices of foreign affairs to perform entry-level assignments in advising or researching international relations.
3. Skill in communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing.
4. Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions in logistics, international business, and program management.
5. Ability to plan and organize work and consult effectively with co-workers.
