As an SDE Intern, you will own designing, developing, integrating, troubleshooting, and optimizing critical automation systems that will be deployed at very large scale.

Amazon Robotics internship/co-op opportunities will be based out of the Greater Boston Area in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough, MA and North Reading, MA.
Both campuses provide a unique opportunity to have direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities.
Amazon internships across all seasons are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work in office, Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm.
Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager.
Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon work-day.
Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes.
Key job responsibilities
• Assisting the firmware team in writing code, scripts, and tests for our current and next generation of robotic systems
• Assisting an interdisciplinary team of engineers in the execution of product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation, testing, and certification
• Having an understanding of and interest in the technical principles, theories, and concepts in embedded firmware development and testing
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, test, deploy and operate innovative robotics products and services that delight our customers, while participating in technical discussions to drive solutions forward.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.
• Build and maintain resilient robotics systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective.
• Leverage and contribute to the development of GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity while staying current with emerging technologies.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.
• Work in an agile environment practicing CI/CD principles while participating in operational responsibilities including on-call duties.
