岗位职责

Amazon is hiring an experienced GEO editor for the Amazon News website (AboutAmazon.com) to lead our evergreen story archive program.
You will develop and execute a plan to 2X our archive of GEO/SEO-driven evergreen content, grow organic search traffic, support content creation, and help shape how Amazon News content surfaces across an increasingly AI-driven discovery landscape.
You will coordinate closely with editorial and business communications teams to identify and prioritize these stories, edit and optimize content so it performs well in GEO, and lead the content creation process.
Your focus will be on ensuring Amazon’s narrative is accurately represented, discoverable, and cited across LLMs such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.
This role requires deep AI search engine optimization knowledge, strong editorial expertise, and the ability to work cross-functionally with editorial, communications, and technical teams across a global organization.
This person must also be data-driven and be able to develop tactics to drive business goals, engagement, and reach.
The ideal candidate is analytical, curious about AI, an effective storyteller, and thinks about content first — diving into GEO data to identify content opportunities that are both compelling for readers and optimized for machines.
This role is part of the Amazon News team, which sits within Amazon’s Communications & Corporate Responsibility org.
Amazon News serves as the first and most trusted source of news and information about Amazon for external audiences.
We help customers understand what Amazon is doing globally — from fostering a great workplace and driving innovation to supporting small business and sustainability.
We tell the larger story of who Amazon is through compelling content on AboutAmazon.com and our off-platform distribution channels such as our email newsletter.
This is an individual contributor role based in New York, NY.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead the GEO/SEO evergreen story archive, owning the editorial roadmap and prioritization for which stories to build, refresh, or optimize.
• Partner with editorial and business communications teams to identify, coordinate, and shape evergreen stories, aligning on goals, priorities, timelines, and messaging.
• Apply GEO best practices to content structure, framing, and language so stories perform in generative engines while remaining compelling and accurate for human readers.
• Experiment with and adopt emerging AI tools and workflows to scale GEO content production.
• Monitor and optimize how these evergreen stories surface in AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews, including tracking citations and visibility.
• Develop and maintain editorial standards, guidelines, and best practices for GEO across the Amazon News content ecosystem.
• Use dedicated SEO tools (such as Google Search Console, SEMRush, Sistrix, Screaming Frog) and GEO tools (Scrunch, WriteSonic).
• Understand customer search and AI discovery behavior and provide guidance to teams to help them meet customers where they are.
• Develop and implement link and traffic building strategies.
• Stay current on industry trends, competitor techniques, and best practices across SEO, GEO, and AI-driven content discovery.
