As a Software Development Engineer II at Amazon, you will design, build, and deliver features across the full software development lifecycle.

You will tackle complex technical challenges, contribute high-quality code, and collaborate with talented engineers to create solutions that are reliable, maintainable, and extensible.

- Design and implement software solutions that enable new features and improvements, working across the full development lifecycle from product definition and scoping through deployment and maintenance.

- Write high-quality, well-documented code and actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to teammates and using the review process as a coaching opportunity.

- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including product managers, stakeholders, and peer engineers to understand business and customer needs, translating them into effective technical solutions.

- Identify and resolve root causes of operational issues, driving permanent fixes and continuously improving your team's operational health and technical processes.

- Evaluate and integrate generative artificial intelligence tools where appropriate, applying responsible practices to augment productivity and solution quality. A day in the life

You will start your day reviewing the latest deployment metrics and operational dashboards, then move into design discussions or code reviews with your teammates.

You might spend the afternoon implementing a new feature, writing tests, or pairing with a colleague to debug a tricky issue.

Along the way, you will document your designs and share knowledge with newer team members, helping them ramp up on the systems you maintain.

Network Monitoring and Remediation (NMR) is the team that makes that possible.

We prevent, predict, detect, and remediate network impairments before they reach customers.

Our systems ingest trillions of telemetry data points daily from millions of network devices, apply advanced streaming analytics and

ML/AI to surface actionable signals, and drive automated mitigation through our event management platform.

Today, over 98% of detected issues are resolved without human intervention.

For the remainder, we provide expert diagnostic tooling that enables operators to act decisively.

Our vision: every network failure is pre-emptively resolved by autonomous systems — zero customer impact, zero human intervention.

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience

- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below.

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).

Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
