We welcome applicants from a wide range of academic backgrounds, particularly final-year undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in international trade, e-learning development, and event organization.
This internship programme is unpaid and full-time.
Interns work five days per week, or 35 hours, under the supervision of a staff member in the Division.
Please kindly specify your preferred start and end dates in your application document or motivation statement.
The Trade Policy and Facilitation Section is a busy and dynamic team within UN ESCAP.
The Division is involved in a wide variety of work related to trade policy, investment and trade facilitation.
This includes research and analysis;
organizing training and capacity-building activities for policymakers, and organizing regional policy dialogues, meetings, events and forums.
The selected intern will primarily support the development of an e-learning course on trade agreement negotiations, including the editing of pre-recorded expert videos, preparation of learning materials and coordination of course development activities.
The intern will also assist in organizing UN meetings, conferences and side events related to trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region.
Prior experience in video editing or e-learning development is welcome but not required.
Basic editing tools, such as Canva, will be used, and the tasks do not require advanced technical skills.
We particularly welcome candidates who are enthusiastic about learning new skills, creative and well-organized.
Remote, online internships are possible.
Please indicate your preference in your application.
Candidates from Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States in Asia and the Pacific are encouraged to apply, as our team values candidates who can share first-hand perspectives on the challenges facing their countries and regions and contribute to the development of more relevant policy interventions.
