Student Trainee (Medical

The incumbent serves as a Student Trainee in the Send-Outs/Processing department of the clinical laboratory at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. Responsibilities include performing duties related to the processing and sending out of clinical specimens, handling biologic hazards safely, and using personal protective equipment such as laboratory coats and gloves. The trainee will adhere to an established work schedule approved by the supervisor, observe workplace rules including dress code and office conduct, and participate in all mandatory training programs.

To be eligible, applicants must be accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis. The degree must be relevant to this position.
