Registered Nurse Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Program Manager

The Registered Nurse Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Program Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) program at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan. This role involves coordinating and managing all aspects of the SPHM program to ensure the safety of patients and staff during patient handling and mobility activities. Key responsibilities include: Developing and updating SPHM policies, procedures, and protocols in alignment with national VA standards and evidence-based practices.

Basic Requirements: Proficiency in basic written and spoken English as required for direct patient care positions. Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency (e.g., ACEN or CCNE) at the time the program was completed.
