Logistics Management Specialist

As a Logistics Management Specialist, you will perform a full range of conventional duties related to education services programs while completing developmental assignments and training outlined in a formal training and development plan. Your responsibilities include applying principles, concepts, and theories of logistics management to execute standard practices, methods, and techniques for well-precedented assignments. You will utilize analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend solutions from multiple alternatives. You will apply logistics management principles to perform moderately difficult assignments, analyze problems to identify key factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize effective solutions. Communication is essential; you will convey information clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy both orally and in writing, and collaborate professionally with peers and management. Additionally, you will learn and apply analytical investigative techniques to accomplish logistics management tasks.

To qualify for a GS-09 position, you must have completed two years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree, or possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least a GS-07. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include: knowledge of logistics management principles, concepts, and theories, as well as standard practices, methods, and techniques; knowledge of analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend solutions; skill in applying logistics management principles to perform moderately difficult assignments; ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy both orally and in writing, and work professionally with peers and management; and ability to learn and apply analytical investigative techniques to accomplish logistics management work.
