岗位职责

The PTSD Psychologist will provide evidence-based psychotherapy to veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) within a clinical setting. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, diagnosing PTSD and related conditions, and developing individualized treatment plans using evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). The psychologist will deliver individual and group therapy sessions, monitor patient progress, and adjust interventions as needed to optimize outcomes. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care providers, is essential to coordinate holistic care. The role also involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with VA policies and standards, participating in case conferences, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, the psychologist may provide consultation to other clinicians on PTSD treatment and engage in training or supervision of psychology interns and trainees. The position requires adherence to ethical guidelines and a commitment to delivering culturally competent care to a diverse veteran population.

Qualifications include: (1) United States citizenship; non-citizens may be appointed only when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. (2) A doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), with a specialty consistent with the assignment. (3) Successful completion of a professional psychology internship training program accredited by the APA or CPA at the time the program was completed and consistent with the assignment. (4) Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in a U.S. state or territory. (5) Experience or training in evidence-based psychotherapies for PTSD, such as CPT, PE, or EMDR. (6) Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. (7) Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment. (8) Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (9) Commitment to veteran-centered care and cultural competence.
