Clinical Lab Scientist

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) performs a range of laboratory testing and analysis to support patient diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities vary by grade level: Entry Level (GS-7): Serves in a CLS entry-level position under direct daily supervision. Receives guidance from more experienced staff members. Performs basic laboratory tasks as assigned. Developmental Level (GS-9): Evaluates, performs, interprets, and validates the accuracy and validity of test results. Performs testing procedures on a variety of biological specimens using manual or automated methods.

Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship. English Language Proficiency. Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university including 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of biological science (with one course in microbiology) and 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of chemist
