Apprentice

As an Apprentice at DS Smith, you will gain hands-on experience in engineering within the sustainable packaging industry. Your responsibilities will include: - Supporting the engineering team in the design, development, and optimization of packaging solutions. - Assisting with the operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment used in the production process. - Participating in projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing sustainability. - Learning and applying principles of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions. - Documenting processes, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. - Engaging in training programs to develop technical skills in areas such as mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering. - Contributing to the development of new packaging designs and prototypes. - Supporting the integration of recycling and papermaking operations into the production cycle. - Assisting in data collection and analysis to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement. - Participating in team meetings and contributing ideas to drive innovation. - Performing other duties as assigned to support the engineering department's goals.
