No prior experience in catering is required, as full training will be provided. However, you should have a genuine interest in starting a career in the catering industry and a willingness to learn. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers. Basic numeracy and literacy skills are necessary for following recipes, measuring ingredients, and completing training materials. You should be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions accurately. Physical stamina is important, as the role involves standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, and working in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety is essential. You must be eligible to work in the UK and able to meet the apprenticeship funding requirements. A positive attitude, enthusiasm for food, and a desire to develop new skills are key attributes for success in this role.
