As a Morale, Well-being, and Recreation (MWR) Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across multiple functional areas within the United States Coast Guard's MWR programs. Your responsibilities will include supporting recreation services, youth programs, business operations, special events, and marketing initiatives. You will assist in planning and executing recreational activities and events that enhance the well-being of Coast Guard personnel and their families. In the recreation and youth services area, you will help coordinate sports leagues, fitness programs, and child and youth development activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment. In business operations, you will support the management of facilities such as fitness centers, bowling alleys, and recreation centers, including inventory control, scheduling, and customer service. For special events, you will contribute to the planning, promotion, and execution of community events, from concept to completion, including logistics, vendor coordination, and participant engagement. In marketing, you will assist with creating promotional materials, managing social media accounts, and conducting outreach to increase program awareness and participation. You will also perform administrative tasks such as data entry, report generation, and correspondence. Throughout the internship, you will work collaboratively with a dynamic team, demonstrating professionalism, initiative, and enthusiasm in a service-focused environment. You will be expected to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including military personnel, family members, and civilian staff. This internship is designed to provide practical experience that complements academic coursework in recreation, hospitality, fitness, sports management, child and youth development, marketing, business administration, or related fields. The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.

They must be in good academic standing. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
