岗位职责

The Senior Psychologist - Service Chief Mental Health is responsible for overseeing the delivery of mental health services, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards. Key duties include: Clinical Leadership: Direct and supervise the mental health service line, including clinical staff such as psychologists, social workers, and nurses. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment protocols and clinical guidelines to enhance patient outcomes. Program Management: Manage the daily operations of mental health programs, including outpatient, inpatient, and specialty clinics. Monitor service utilization, patient flow, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and access to care. Staff Supervision and Development: Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to psychology staff, including interns and trainees. Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and facilitate professional development opportunities. Quality Improvement: Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Analyze clinical data to identify trends, address gaps in care, and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with other service chiefs, medical directors, and administrative leaders to integrate mental health services across the healthcare system. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and case conferences. Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, review, and update policies and procedures related to mental health services. Ensure alignment with VA directives, ethical standards, and best practices. Crisis Intervention: Oversee crisis response protocols and provide direct clinical support during emergencies. Coordinate with emergency departments and community partners for continuity of care. Research and Education: Promote a culture of research and evidence-based practice. Support staff in conducting research projects and disseminating findings. Provide education and training to healthcare professionals on mental health topics. Patient Advocacy: Ensure patient-centered care by addressing patient concerns, promoting access to services, and advocating for resources. Monitor patient satisfaction and implement improvements as needed.

Qualifications and requirements include: a doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited program; current, unrestricted licensure as a psychologist; significant experience in clinical leadership and program management within a mental health setting; demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment protocols and quality improvement; strong supervisory and mentoring skills; ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams; knowledge of accreditation standards and regulatory requirements; and excellent communication and organizational skills.
