岗位职责
The Staff Psychologist (Pain) will provide comprehensive psychological services within a remote clinical setting, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with chronic pain conditions. Key responsibilities include conducting evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy for pain, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, tailored to individual patient needs. The psychologist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to develop integrated pain management plans. Duties also involve performing psychological evaluations to assess pain-related functional impairment, emotional distress, and comorbid mental health disorders. The psychologist will maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards, participate in treatment team meetings, and provide consultation to colleagues on pain psychology best practices. Additionally, the role includes contributing to program development and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes in pain management. The psychologist will adhere to ethical guidelines and VA policies, ensuring culturally competent care. Remote work requires effective use of telehealth platforms to deliver services, manage caseloads, and coordinate care with patients and providers across various locations. The position may involve supervising psychology trainees or interns, as assigned, and engaging in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in pain psychology.
