Psychologist Clinician Investigator

The Psychologist Clinician Investigator will serve within the Mental Health Service Line (MHSL) at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. The primary role involves conducting research, program evaluation, and providing statistical and data informatic support as a psychologist researcher for the MHSL Executive Team, Clinician Investigator Team (CIT), staff, and training programs. Additionally, the incumbent will perform clinical duties within the MHSL, including direct patient care and assessment as needed. Responsibilities include designing and implementing research studies, analyzing data, preparing reports and publications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to advance mental health care. The psychologist will also contribute to program evaluation efforts to assess and improve service delivery, and provide consultation on data-driven decision-making. Clinical duties may involve psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and evidence-based psychotherapy for veterans with mental health conditions. The role requires active participation in team meetings, supervision of trainees, and adherence to ethical and professional standards.

Qualifications: Must be a United States citizen. Hold a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time of program completion. The specialty area of the degree must be consistent with the assignment. Have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program accredited by APA or CPA at the time of program completion, consistent with the assignment. Demonstrated experience in research, program evaluation, and statistical analysis is required. Strong data informatic skills and ability to support clinical and training programs are essential.
