The Psychology Program Manager for the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) oversees the delivery of comprehensive psychological services within a multidisciplinary team setting. Key responsibilities include:
Program Management: Directing and coordinating BHIP operations, ensuring alignment with clinical guidelines and organizational goals. This involves developing, implementing, and evaluating program policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
Clinical Leadership: Providing clinical supervision and guidance to psychology staff, including psychologists, interns, and trainees. The manager ensures evidence-based practices are integrated into patient care, conducts case consultations, and maintains high standards of clinical quality.
Patient Care: Delivering direct psychological services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and psychotherapy for a diverse patient population with complex mental health needs. The role may involve crisis intervention and coordination with other healthcare providers.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Working closely with psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and other professionals to foster integrated care. The manager facilitates team meetings, promotes communication, and resolves conflicts to enhance team effectiveness.
Training and Education: Overseeing the training of psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows, including curriculum development, supervision, and evaluation. The manager may also provide educational programs for staff and community partners.
Quality Improvement: Monitoring program outcomes, conducting audits, and implementing improvements to enhance patient access, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. This includes data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Administrative Duties: Managing budget resources, scheduling, and compliance with regulatory standards. The manager ensures documentation meets legal and ethical requirements and participates in strategic planning.
