Staff Psychologist-Mental Health Out Patient

The Staff Psychologist in the Mental Health Outpatient clinic provides comprehensive psychological services to veterans. Responsibilities include conducting diagnostic assessments, developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, and providing individual and group psychotherapy. The psychologist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, including consultation with primary care, psychiatry, and social work. Duties also involve crisis intervention, risk assessment, and management of acute mental health issues. The psychologist will maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record, adhering to VA and professional standards. Additionally, the role includes participation in program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives, and supervision of psychology trainees as assigned. The psychologist will engage in outreach and education to promote mental health awareness and access to services within the veteran community.

Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program. Successful completion of a professional psychology internship training program accredited by APA or CPA. United States citizenship required. Licensure as a psychologist in a state or territory of the United States is preferred. Experience in outpatient mental health settings and with veteran populations is highly desirable. Strong clinical skills in evidence-based psychotherapies, such as CBT, DBT, or ACT. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
