Staff Psychologist - Recruitment/Relocation Incentive - EDRP

The Staff Psychologist serves as a consulting psychologist for a variety of medical/surgical teams. The primary responsibilities include conducting brief cognitive and psychological assessments, as well as providing brief, problem-focused treatment interventions. The psychologist collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care, offering expertise in psychological evaluation and short-term therapeutic approaches. Duties also involve documenting clinical findings, maintaining patient records, and participating in team meetings to coordinate care. The role requires adherence to professional standards and ethical guidelines, with a focus on delivering evidence-based psychological services within a healthcare setting.

Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Education: Possess a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time of program completion. Alternatively, a doctoral degree in any area of psychology with successful completion of a re-specialization program (including an approved internship) from an APA or CPA accredited program, consistent with the assignment. Or a doctoral degree awarded between 1951 and 1978 from a regionally-accredited institution with a dissertation primarily psychological in nature. Internship: Must have completed a professional psychology internship training program accredited by APA or CPA at the time of completion, consistent with the assignment. New VHA psychology internship programs in the process of applying for APA accreditation are acceptable if sanctioned by VHA Central Office. Pre-1979 VHA internships are also acceptable.
