Staff Psychologist - Recruitment/Relocation Incentive - EDRP Approved - CLC

The Staff Psychologist will provide a full range of psychological assessment, diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services to residents in the Community Living Center (CLC). Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations, developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, and providing individual and group psychotherapy. The psychologist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to address the complex needs of residents, including those with chronic medical conditions, cognitive impairments, and mental health disorders. Duties also involve crisis intervention, behavioral management, and providing education and support to residents' families and caregivers. The psychologist will participate in program development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical supervision of trainees as needed. Documentation of clinical activities in accordance with professional standards and facility policies is required. The role may involve consultation to other departments and participation in research or training activities to advance the quality of care within the CLC.

Qualifications: Must be a U.S. citizen. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Education: A doctoral degree in psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program at the time of completion; OR a doctoral degree in any area of psychology with completion of an APA or CPA accredited re-specialization program including an approved internship; OR a doctoral degree awarded between 1951 and 1978 from a regionally-accredited institution with a dissertation primarily psychological in nature. Internship: Completion of a professional psychology internship accredited by APA or CPA at the time of completion; OR completion of a VHA psychology internship program sanctioned by VHA Central Office and Office of Academic Affiliations; OR completion of a full-time, one-year pre-doctoral internship at a VHA facility prior to 1979; OR current board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology in a specialty consistent with the assignment.
