Staff Psychologist - Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI)

The Staff Psychologist in Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services within a primary care setting. Key responsibilities include conducting brief, evidence-based assessments and interventions for patients with mild to moderate mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. The psychologist collaborates closely with primary care providers to integrate behavioral health into routine medical care, offering consultation on patient management and treatment planning. Duties also involve developing and implementing treatment plans, providing psychoeducation to patients and families, and facilitating referrals to specialty mental health services when needed. The psychologist participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributes to quality improvement initiatives, and maintains accurate clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards. Additionally, the role includes providing crisis intervention, conducting suicide risk assessments, and supporting patients in managing chronic health conditions through behavioral strategies. The psychologist may also engage in program development, training of primary care staff, and research activities to enhance the integration of mental health services.

Qualifications include United States citizenship and proficiency in spoken and written English. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time of program completion. Additionally, applicants must have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program accredited by APA or CPA, consistent with the assignment. No specific years of experience are required beyond the education and internship criteria.
