Staff Psychologist

The Staff Psychologist provides professional psychological services within the New Jersey VA Health Care System at the Hackensack Outpatient Clinic. This is an intermittent position with no set hours or regular schedule. Responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, diagnoses, and evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions for a diverse patient population. The psychologist collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans, provides crisis intervention as needed, and maintains thorough clinical documentation in accordance with VA policies. Additionally, the role involves consultation with other healthcare professionals, participation in clinical case conferences, and adherence to ethical and professional standards. The psychologist may also engage in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.

Must be a citizen of the United States. Must hold a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time the program was completed. Must have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program accredited by the APA or CPA at the time the program was completed.
