The Psychology Program Manager (MHIS) oversees the Mental Health Intensive Services (MHIS) program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality psychological services to veterans. This role involves managing clinical operations, supervising psychology staff, and coordinating interdisciplinary care within the MHIS framework. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing evidence-based treatment protocols, monitoring program outcomes, and ensuring compliance with VHA policies and accreditation standards. The manager will lead quality improvement initiatives, conduct program evaluations, and provide direct clinical supervision to psychologists and trainees. Additionally, the position involves collaborating with other mental health programs to integrate services, managing budget and resource allocation, and representing the MHIS program in meetings with stakeholders. The manager will also provide direct patient care as needed, including diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention. This role requires strong leadership skills to foster a collaborative team environment and promote professional development among staff. The manager will also participate in training and education activities, including supervising psychology interns and residents, and contributing to research projects that advance mental health care for veterans.

Must be a U.S. citizen. Hold a doctoral degree in psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program, with a specialty area consistent with the assignment (e.g., clinical, counseling, or clinical neuropsychology). Alternatively, a doctoral degree in any area of psychology plus completion of an APA or CPA accredited respecialization program in a relevant specialty, including an approved internship. Or a doctoral degree awarded between 1951 and 1978 from a regionally-accredited institution with a dissertation primarily psychological. Must meet specific eligibility requirements for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) if applicable. Experience in program management, clinical supervision, and interdisciplinary collaboration is required. Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatments for mental health conditions, particularly in veteran populations, is essential.
