Staff Psychologist - Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program

The Staff Psychologist in the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) provides comprehensive psychological services within an interdisciplinary team framework. Responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions for a diverse patient population. The psychologist collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement integrated treatment plans, ensuring continuity of care across behavioral health services. Clinical duties involve individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral health consultations. The psychologist participates in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and clinical supervision of trainees as needed. Documentation of clinical activities in electronic health records is required, adhering to professional and regulatory standards. Qualifications include United States citizenship and English language proficiency. Education requires a doctoral degree in psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program, or a doctoral degree with completion of an APA or CPA accredited re-specialization program consistent with the assignment, or a doctoral degree awarded between 1951 and 1978 from a regionally-accredited institution with a dissertation primarily psychological in nature. Internship must be completed in an APA or CPA accredited professional psychology internship program consistent with the assignment; alternative internships sanctioned by VHA Central Office or pre-1979 VHA internships are acceptable. Applicants must meet grade-specific requirements as outlined in the job announcement. Additional requirements may include licensure or certification as a psychologist in a state or territory of the United States.
