Staff Psychologist - Primary Care-Mental Health Integration

The Staff Psychologist in Primary Care-Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) will provide comprehensive mental health services within a primary care setting. Responsibilities include conducting brief, evidence-based assessments and interventions for patients with mild to moderate mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. The psychologist will collaborate closely with primary care providers to integrate behavioral health into routine medical care, offering same-day consultations and warm hand-offs. Duties involve developing and implementing treatment plans that are time-limited and focused on functional improvement. The psychologist will also provide psychoeducation to patients and families, facilitate referrals to specialty mental health services when needed, and participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record, adhering to ethical and regulatory standards, and contributing to interdisciplinary team meetings. The role requires flexibility to adapt to the fast-paced primary care environment and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Qualifications include United States citizenship and proficiency in spoken and written English. Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA). Additionally, completion of a professional psychology internship training program accredited by the APA or CPA is required. The position requires eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in a state or territory of the United States. Experience in primary care or integrated care settings is preferred but not mandatory. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with medical staff and patients.
