Staff Psychologist - Geropsychology

The Staff Psychologist - Geropsychology will provide comprehensive psychological services to older adult patients within a healthcare setting. Responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, and providing individual and group psychotherapy tailored to the geriatric population. The psychologist will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address the complex medical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs of older adults, including those with dementia, depression, anxiety, and chronic illness. Duties also involve performing cognitive and neuropsychological evaluations, offering behavioral health consultations, and providing crisis intervention as needed. The role includes participating in treatment planning meetings, documenting clinical activities in accordance with regulatory standards, and contributing to program development and quality improvement initiatives. The psychologist will also provide supervision and training to psychology trainees and other healthcare staff, and engage in research or scholarly activities to advance geropsychology practice.

Qualifications include United States citizenship and proficiency in spoken and written English. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time of program completion. Additionally, applicants must have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program accredited by APA or CPA that is consistent with the geropsychology assignment. Experience in geropsychology, including assessment and treatment of older adults, is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team setting.
