Registered Nurse Transition to Practice (RNTTP) Resident

The Registered Nurse Transition to Practice (RNTTP) Resident is a 12-month program designed to support the new graduate RN in transitioning from entry-level education to full, competent practice. The resident will participate in a comprehensive developmental training program that combines didactic instruction with clinical experiences. Key responsibilities include performing procedures that are within the scope of practice for registered nurses, applying theoretical knowledge to patient care, and developing clinical judgment under the guidance of preceptors and mentors. The resident will engage in structured learning activities to build proficiency in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. They will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care and will progressively assume more independent responsibilities as competencies are demonstrated. The program emphasizes the integration of evidence-based practices, effective communication, and professional development to achieve competence in the full scope of RN practice.

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (e.g., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. English Language Proficiency.
