Staff Physical Therapist responsible for evaluating and treating adult patients, developing treatment plans, supervising PTAs, and ordering DME in a clinical setting.

岗位职责

As a Staff Physical Therapist, you will provide direct patient care to an adult population within a clinical setting. Your primary responsibilities include evaluating patients' physical therapy needs, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and monitoring patient progress. You will utilize evidence-based practices to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. You will also be responsible for ordering and recommending durable medical equipment (DME) to support patient care and independence. Additionally, you will supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), ensuring that delegated tasks are performed safely and effectively. You will maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory and facility standards. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is essential to coordinate comprehensive patient care. You will also participate in patient education, teaching patients and their families about therapeutic exercises, home programs, and injury prevention strategies. Your role may involve contributing to quality improvement initiatives and staying current with advancements in physical therapy practices.

Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed only when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens per VA Policy). Education and experience: Must meet one of the following: (1) Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy AND five (5) years of progressively independent experience as a physical therapist; (2) Master's degree in Physical Therapy AND two (2) years of progressively independent experience as a physical therapist; (3) Doctorate degree in physical therapy. Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited college or university is required. Licensure: Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Preferred Experience: 4 years of clinical experience in an adult population. Experience supervising Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs). Experience with ordering/recommending durable medical equipment (DME).
