Child and Youth Program Assistant (Entry - Intermediate Level)

The Child and Youth Program Assistant (Entry - Intermediate Level) is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the School Age Center, ensuring a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children and youth. Duties include supervising and interacting with children during activities, implementing program schedules, and assisting with age-appropriate learning and recreational activities. The role requires flexibility to work varying hours, including Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 5:30pm, with occasional weekends. The incumbent may work 0-40 hours per week, with no guaranteed hours. Responsibilities also involve operating gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW of up to 10,000 pounds, such as pickup trucks, sedans, vans, or jeeps, as needed for program activities. The assistant must apply defensive driving techniques to recognize hazardous road and traffic conditions and select alternate routes to avoid potential problems. For intermediate-level positions, the assistant must have six months of experience equivalent to the CY-01 Entry Level working in a group program for children or youth, completion of three Air Force (AF) modules (or equivalent), and completion of the AF Orientation Training Program. Entry-level positions require no previous experience. The assistant will contribute to a positive and supportive atmosphere, following all program guidelines and safety protocols.

ALL LEVELS: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent, and be able to provide proof (e.g., diploma or equivalent) for verification. Experience in operating one or more gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW of up to 10,000 pounds, such as pickup trucks, sedans, vans, or jeeps. Experience in defensive driving techniques is desired, including skills to recognize developing hazardous road and traffic conditions and the judgment to select alternate routes to avoid potential problems. CY PROGRAM ASSISTANT (INTERMEDIATE LEVEL): Six months experience equivalent to the CY-01 Entry Level working in a group program for children or youth AND completion of 3 AF modules (or equivalent) AND AF Orientation Training Program. CY PROGRAM ASSISTANT (ENTRY LEVEL): No previous experience required.
